Buttercup children worked over the last several weeks to create pieces for a beautiful, colorful mobile.  The children wet-felted wool balls, which provided the inspiration anchor for the project.  From there, I decided to end the strands with crystal beads in corresponding colors. These are chalcedony, amazonite, citrine, ametrine, and strawberry quartz. I knew the children would love to string the remaining beads themselves. I dyed unfinished wooden beads with food coloring, and the children eagerly set to work. The final piece was adding each of the Buttercup's symbols to one of the beads on each strand. This project was a joy to create with the children.
